President of the Company
C.E.O. Shigehira Inukai
Facing the year 2011, it has been 36 years since we started as a total
waste company. We have been buying recyclable plastic materials and selling
recycling machines using our knowledge to build recycling systems. It is
highly noted that we have established the recycling systems for bulky and
troublesome Styrofoam. We have built over 2000 recycling sites and produce
80,000 tons of plastic materials that we collect and export for recycling.
Our future problem with waste needs to be recognized by each individual. The keyword would be morals in each individual's mind. Looking at a drastic change in times, we, the Panachemical company and its employees are working very hard to reach our goal as a small but strong company, caring for the environment.
Styrofoam Recycling
It was the second oil-shortage in 1978 that brought about our recycling of Styrofoam while still continuing the plastic recycling business. The lack of plastic materials was becoming a serious issue at that time, and the use of Styrofoam was becoming very popular.
Despite there being in the incinerating of waste, the biggest wholesale market in Japan-Tokyo central wholesale market (Tukiji) continued to do so. We set up the recycling machine and began recycling Styrofoam. We using our knowledge in manufacturing plastic, collected and sold effective recycled materials. We began to build recycle systems.
Since the initial operation in March 1978 we received an award from the Recycle Promotion Organization in 1984.
We have been contributing to the society by producing recycling systems and protecting the environment.
We collected and recycled 30,000 tons of Styrofoam in 1999. The market share has reached about 80% and continues to grow as a recycle method.
Foundation of Company
Pana-Chemical Corporation was founded as a sales agency for Panasonic sales company in 1976.
At the time of foundation the company's major form of business was in plastic materials.
We have been watching the flow of plastic recycling, the selling, manufacturing, its use and finally of it becoming waste. We started a business recycling plastic materials as we thought it would be a most profitable business.
Recycling was hardly heard of at the time but upon realizaing just what waste can do to the environment, we made it the company's aim to recycle plastic sateste.
Building a recycling system
The recycling machine can reduce Styrofoam down to 1/50 of its volume and form an ingot (Rosin cube). We collect and pay for ingots. Instead of having to pay for the industrial waste it becomes a profit. We faced problems in stable demand when we first came up with the recycling systems. It was very difficult for recycled Styrofoam materials to be accepted as plastic materials due to the appearance of the products.
We have started shipping the materials to Hong Kong as there is a large demand of low cost materials. The ingots were used to produce toys, stationary and videocassette cases. We now have over 10 companies to secure stable demand in Hong Kong.
It has become a necessary material for videotapes, etc.
We have built recycle systems which set the machines to re-merchandize recycled materials.
Recycle Circle
The package/wrapping/waste recycle law was enforced in April 1997. The handling industrial waste was manily a government business. The recycling became a civil action, sharing the responsibilities. The government has initiated this action. This action may soon end unless there is a solid recycling concept. It is very important for every one to benefit from its action in order to maintain the long lasting recycle systems.
We would sincerely like to build a RECYCLING CIRCLE for every one on Earth.
